Rollins has done some things i really like but he also rubs me the wrong way a lot of the time, i completely agree with him though that i have NEVER understood people booing off opening bands and doing stuff like that. because the band you want to see still isnt coming out until they are ready to come out, it is nice to have something going on while you wait so just try to enjoy it. famously back in the late 60s The Monkees got Jimi Hendrix to open for them thinking it would gain them some cred, but their 12 year old girl fans booed him off the stage so bad he left the tour. man just enjoy the show you might be seeing a future legend. this Bruce Dickenson thing is not nearly as hard as he goes after Robert Smith and Morrissey. what does he want a boring world where everyone is exactly like him.

The first concert or the first metal concert I ever went to as a child, I think I was 13 or 14, was Iron Maiden and it was the Seventh Son of a Seventh son tour. The opening band was Guns N Roses but get this, it was maybe a month or two before Dirty Harry came out and welcome to the jungle ( which played in the movie) blew up and the world went crazy for them. The whole set everyone booed and chanted EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE...I remember 2 months later while playing the appetite for destruction cassette in my walkman that FUCK, I can't believe I saw this band and never even paid attention hahaha

I was a once local hand for a show of the fear of the dark tour and made a mistake: Stayed for some extra bucks as security. Maiden is maiden- I didnt care. They're werent punk neither Rock N Roll. They did their nerd thing for 23 year old male virgins. Rest like above

I have watched this many times, & it still makes me smile. The innocence of Irish society back then was perfect for such a show, & Mike Murphy played ever part so well. I wonder what these people are doing now, & do they look at this with a smile.

Can confirm as a younger Maiden fan, saw them live in October and the opening band Within Temptation despite being awesome, didn't get much energy from the crowd.

The only time I experienced this phenom was at a Metallica concert. The audience booed Faith No More because they weren't famous yet and they wanted Metallica. I saw Iron Maiden once too, but I don't recall the audience booing the opener.
